Mozambique’s largest edible oil storage and transit facility, the 29 tanks – all of them heated – offer total storage volumes of 22,000m3, with individual tanks ranging from 47-1,750 tonnes capacity.the company served 21 vessels in 2018 and handled in excess of 94,000 tonnes. While tough economic conditions mean 2018 was a more challenging year, the outlook remains very positive.Vegetable oils remain the company’s main product, used to make many basic necessities, including cooking oils, margarine, soap, skin care products, salad dressings and food supplements.Every month, around 6,000-tonne consignments of vegetable, palm and soya bean oil leave the port for regional markets, mostly by 30-tonne road tankers. lPORT OF BEIRA PROFILE & DIRECTORY 2019 | 2020 49
