As perspectivas são boas.”JEREMIAS DO RÊGOGestor do Terminal de Petróleo e GásOil and Gas Terminal ManagerThe plans are likely to propose a new cross-border pipeline to Zimbabwe, complementing the existing 500km Beira-Msasa pipeline, as well as recommending that the access channel to the fuel jetty be widened to 367m to allow two-way traffic, enabling a second jetty to be built when required.The existing berth is large enough to accommodate Panamax-size vessels and operates around the clock, utilising up to four pipelines to discharge petroleum products to privately-owned facilities in the nearby tank farm.The tanks store a range of refined oil products including Gasoil (diesel), Mogas (gasoline), Jet A-1 (aviation kerosene) and LPG (liquefied petroleum gas), destined both for the domestic market and for export to neighbouring countries.xStorage (Glencore) inaugurated a new oil and gas handling facility at Beira during 2013. The turnkey project comprised two 20,000m3 tanks for diesel, one 20,000m3 tank for Mogas, one 10,000m3 tank for Jet A-1 and two 2,500m3 LPG storage spheres, as well as associated infrastructure including truck loading and offloading stations.In 2014, Africa-based energy company Engen completed the first phase of a renovation programme at its Beira storage facility, including tank refurbishment and installation of new tanks, road tanker loading facilities, import and export piping, fire fighting and security systems.
