O carvão de várias minas converge para as instalação via camião, é armazenado na estação ferroviária e depois carregado em vagões ferroviários para a etapa final para Maputo, através da Linha de Goba.O carvão e o magnetite calibrados também são manuseados nas instalações de granéis secos da Grindrod Mozambique Limitada (GML), localizadas no Porto de Maputo. Recentemente alargado para 4,5 milhões de toneladas de capacidade anual, o GML oferece à Grindrod flexibilidade para se adaptar rapidamente às exigências do mercado em rápida mudança ou de curto prazo, em apoio às operações do TCM.Actualmente, o Terminal Automóvel de Maputo (MCTL) movimenta maioritariamente veículos importados da Ásia e da Europa com destino ao mercado moçambicano, embora o tráfego de transbordo para o hinterland esteja a aumentar. The depot covers a total footprint of 49,000m2, including an 8,000m2 warehouse, with a yard capacity of up to 2,500 TEUs.
